Ergowear X3D Lowrise Boxer Brief Review

Ergowear, a brand known for its ergonomic pouch, is the focus of this review. I’ve had the opportunity to review Ergowear’s Max, Max Light, PLUS, and X3D, underwear along with their Flex swimsuit. I’m impressed by their entire lineup! Each of Ergowear’s ranges is different from each other and will explain each during the reviews.

Today’s review, however, will focus specifically on Ergowear’s X3D Lowrise Boxer Brief. The X3D is made from a polyamid/elastane microfiber fabric. The combination of the two allows for a very soft fabric (like soft silk) that is fast-drying and very breathable – creating comfort and usability for any condition of wearing (casual, daily, sports). The material doesn’t absorb, it wicks the moisture away – keeping you cool and avoiding the wet/sticky feel. The waistband on the X3D is very small and covered in the same microfiber – creating a good look and feel.

What makes Ergowear special are their ergnomically designed pouches. The X3D features a 3D pouch which holds you comfortably while lifting you away from your legs in a more natural, comfortable position. This design really helps with overall comfort and not feel squished like other brands sometimes do. With the pouch design keeping your boys away from your legs, you don’t get the sticky feeling when the weather gets hot – really, very nice! The picture shows how things should hang (A is standard underwear and B is the X3D).

The cut of the X3D, in addition to the pouch design, is that of a lowrise. The height, of course, is lower than the standard X3D boxer brief and the waistband is too. I found the lowrise to be very comfortable all around and sat perfectly for me (lowrise can sometimes sit too low). All in all, a great boxer brief from a great brand. I can highly recommend these and have added them to my favorites.

I am 29 waist. which size should i buy for a swimsuit? For example, with Speedos, 36 (not less) fit well on me, maybe because I have big butt…

Haha, normally I’d say a small should work for you since you’re a 29″ waist. You may want to go with a medium, though if you like a bit more room.
