With Valentine’s Day coming up, Freshpair is promoting some of their bulge-enhancing underwear lines. Looking for a boost? Check em out…
boyRio – a Brand Profile
From time to time, I like to take a closer look at some of the brands and highlight who they are and what they’re all about. Today’s Brand Profile is on boyRio.
boyRio first launched its underwear line this year with the tagline of “Feel Good Inside and Out.” Looking at the designs they’ve first rolled out, I can see how the tagline can come to fruition. Their “boy next door” look certainly aligns with its name. Clean lines, classic colors and an emphasis on body flattering fit-all designs, that are not overly sexual, you definitely walk away with the “boy next door” feeling.
The first four styles they’ve started with are:
1) Xtreme low cut- inspired by our low-cut swimsuits- narrow top elastic band. More revealing than the full brief.
2) Full Brief- this brief is modeled after the traditional “sunga” , male Brazilian swimwear design.
3) Brazilian Jock Brief- a hybrid of the xtreme low-cut in front with a jock strap back. Very sexy and comfortable.
4) Boxer Brief- Traditional style boxer brief with just the right amount of thigh coverage.
The brand purports to design collections which embody the youthful spirit and energy of Rio de Janeiro while promoting the carefree style of the Brazilian spirit in creating their comfortable, stylish, and body flattering products.
Timoteo Sport Sprinter Thong – A Men’s Underwear Review
Timoteo has been one of my preferred brands for some time now. In my review of the Timoteo classic jock and their board shorts (which made the Top 10 Swim Trunks list), both earned high marks for style, comfort and quality. My latest review is on the Timoteo Sport Sprinter Thong.
The Timoteo Sport Thong is part of the Timoteo Sport Underwear line – sexy, sporty looking line. The Sport Thong is really very comfortable. I wore it under my business suite for a long day of meetings was very comfortable all day.
In front, I found the contoured pouch to be roomy, comfortable, and supportive. There is a balance in sports underwear between being snug to support you during activities and being too restrictive that you’re uncomfortable for all-day wearing. The Sprinter Thong found a great balance between the two. The thong is made from a nice, quality blend of 96% Cotton/4% Spandex which creates a soft supportive material.
In back, the thong was a comfortable with – not too small that it’s like dental floss and not too thick that you feel a wedgie all day.
What I really liked was the look of the Sprinter Thong all around. I love the look of the sport waistband and really love the look the 3″ sides give to the thong. The wider sides give a nice profile view and really show off your cheeks in the rear. The sportyness of the 3″ sides in the thong really gives this a fresh look from that of a traditional thong. High five for the design guys!
All-in-all a fantastic thong and another hit for Timoteo. If you’re looking for a sporty look and all-day comfort in a thong, look no further. Quite honestly, and I don’t say this lightly, one of the best thongs I have. A special thanks to Mensuas for the sample they provided for this review. Right now, and through September 30th, Mensuas has these on sale for $16.20 USD (normally $18).
Take note: I’m a 33-34″ waist and according to the size chart, I should wear a large. I tried these in a medium and found them to fit wonderfully. In my classic jock review, I wore a large but probably could have gone down to a medium also. It really comes down to how you like things to fit. For the jock and this Sprinter Thong, I prefer a bit snugger of a fit than loose.

I am a long standing fan of Gregg Homme. Their styles are edgy, sexy, cutting edge and a leader in design (as we’ve recently seen with some not-so-subtle copies of their X-Rated Maximizer line). Take a look at the new sexy men’s underwear and swimwear line from Gregg Homme and let me know what you think! Which new style is your favorite??

For lovers of dark, mysterious fashion, Gregg Homme offers its DUNGEON collection – a thrilling array of styles made from a wet leather-look / latex fabric that clings to your body and accentuates it in the way that latex does, but is more comfortable and durable. I don’t believe Hercules was the sex god, but maybe you can be!
Aussie Underwear Underdog Emerges
I just came across a relatively new Aussie brand, Grundies. Grundies was established in May 2009 by founder Tony Vass.
Tony has had over 20 years experience which formed his vision to create a quality Australian-made underwear lifestyle brand at an affordable price. To accomplish this, his first step was cutting out the retailer and selling directly on line. His second step was to bring manufacturing back to Australia to better control the quality and revitalize the job market there.
When clothing company Pacific Brands moved its manufacturing offshore, over 2000 Australians lost their jobs. Tony Vass witnessed the impact of the mass redundancies first hand and vowed to tread a different path, investing in local manufacturing and creating his own underwear line, “Grundies“.
Grundies underwear launched early 2010 and is the culmination of over 2 years of research and development, utilizing some of Australia’s best underwear designers and local manufacturing facilities. “It was important for me to manufacture locally”, Tony said. “I have build up a wealth of contacts within the industry and it’s important for me to manufacture Grundies locally where I can invest in local jobs and ensure we are getting a top quality product to market.”
Tony is aiming for a distinctly Australian flavor with Grundies, from the name which derives from Australian rhyming slang for undies – “Reg Grundies”, through to the design of one of his Grundies ranges featuring iconic images of the Australian flag and the southern cross.
Whether your an Aussie yourself looking to get some Aussie grundies or just a guy somwhere around the globe, Grundies has a look for you.
Grundies are available exclusively online at www.grundies.com.au where you can see the entire collection of men’s and women’s underwear. Check back soon for reviews of Grundies!

Piss & Vinegar and Expose Underwear Premiere at 8th Annual National Underwear Day

According to a recent press release, the 8th Annual National Underwear Day launches today and two of the newest names in underwear are making their big debut, Piss & Vinegar and Expose Underwear.

Piss & Vinegar is the new underwear line from the team that started Ginch Gonch. It is named after an old phrase seething with sarcasm and is a modern, expressive range of briefs, trunks and jock straps.
Expose is one of the hottest brands in Colombia, offering a sporty line of trunks, briefs, thongs and jock straps in sleek fabrics that range from silky, to sheer, to completely see-through.
Creative Director Jason Sutherland says, “A lot of what we offer caters to the guy who likes to express himself through his underwear, so whether it’s bold colors and graphics or a more revealing style, his underwear can do all the talking.”
Piss and Vinegar and Expose are proud to be the lead sponsors of National Underwear Day. Founded by Freshpair in 2003, National Underwear Day is a yearly holiday that gives people all around the country a chance to celebrate what’s hidden the other 364 days. Past festivities have ranged from Times Square takeovers, where underwear-clad models mingled with tourists and New Yorkers alike, to star-studded underwear runway shows.
As part of this years event, Freshpair is giving away 5,000 pairs of underwear from the best and brightest brands.
80% of Americans never change their style of underwear. 60% of those that do don’t wear underwear that properly fits. “We figured the best way to get people to try a new style is to put it right in their hands, no strings attached,” says Freshpair President Michael Kleinmann.
Piss & Vinegar and Expose Underwear are on sale exclusively at Freshpair.com until August 15th.
Baskit Utility Brief – A Men’s Underwear Review
While it may not be the sexiest pair of underwear I’ve reviewed, they are a fantastic pair of stylish everyday men’s underwear. The pair I reviewed were powder blue with chocolate waist and leg bands, along with a white accent panel near the front pouch. Made from a quality blend of 93% cotton / 7% spandex, I found the fabric to be soft and comfortable.

Schultz I Want Out Boxer Brief – A Men’s Underwear Review
Schultz Jeans make more than just fantastic jeans… they make awesome underwear too!
Finding a great pair of jeans was the tip of the iceberg when I found out about Schultz. If you recall, I wrote a review a bit ago on their Greatwhite Jeans and absolutely loved them. I’ve been fortunate enough to also try out their underwear and all I can say is WOW!
While the underwear’s waistband boldly states, “I Want Out” you’ll be quite content staying in – who am I kidding, after your lover sees you, you’ll want out but you’ll look forward to getting back in later on ;-D.
The Schultz I Want Out boxer briefs are a very comfortable pair of men’s underwear. The style is a classic boxer brief look and certainly a masculine look. The classic fly front ads to its classic look. Available in white, black, and and yellow, you’ll look great in these and can have fun with I Want Out waistband.
The boxer briefs are made from 100% ribbed cotton for a soft, comfortable cotton feel. At first I was concerned about them being 100% cotton in that without elastane, 100% cotton tends to loose its shape over the course of the day. Schultz rectifies this concern by add elastic to its leg-bands. The elastic leg bands secured them to your legs and I didn’t experience any riding up of the legs during the day.
For the front, Schultz does use a fly front. While some guys do use the fly when using the restroom, most guys really just pull them down a bit and go over the top. So, for functionality, it’s there but really a matter of whether you’ll use it or not. I believe the use of a fly front is really from a style/aesthetics perspective to give it the classic, masculine look and not necessarily for it’s functional use. The front was comfortable and supportive, but would be curious to see what a pouch would do instead. Again, quite comfortable with the fly front.
Overall, a fantastic pair of boxer briefs. I found myself wearing these a couple of times because they were so comfortable. I really liked the elastic in the leg-bands as they kept them from riding up – an all too often problem with boxer briefs. I can recommend these to you and are on my favorites list. At £18.50 (aprx $28 USD). Schultz does ship internationally. So, check out their underwear line at www.schultzjeans.com. In addition to “I Want Out”, you’ll also discover Coming Soon, Hands Free, Heat Seeker, Get A Grip, and Girls On Top.
I’ll be writing a review on the Schultz Coming Soon briefs soon – another hit!

N2N Bodywear 2010 Freedom Boxer – A Men’s Underwear Review
I been writing on N2N’s new 2010 men’s underwear lines that recently came out and have published several reviews since, including the Freedom Brief and Bikini. The entire Freedom Collection is exceptionally nice men’s underwear.
Today’s review is on N2N’s Freedom Boxer (UN26). The Freedom Boxer is made from the same wonderfully soft cotton/spandex blend as the rest of the Freedom Collection. The Freedom Boxer is similar to the Twilight Trunk as far as overall coverage. The advantage of the Boxer over the Trunk is that there is a definitive pouch area whereas the Trunk is more free-flowing. The other difference is in the length of the legs and the leg bands. The Boxer has wider, more defined, leg bands and the Trunk has much narrower leg bands. And, the legs of the Boxer are a tad longer than the Trunks. I gave the Trunk high marks, but would say I like the Boxer a bit better.
The cotton/spandex blend provides a soft ribbed cottony feel with a comfortable amount of stretch to support and form to your body. With the defined pouch, I found the Freedom Boxer to be very comfortable and supportive without being restrictive.
The Freedom Collection uses a 1.5″ braided waistband. The waistband is just high enough to be comfortable without cutting into you and small enough that it doesn’t strangle the overall aesthetics of the boxer. The braided waistband was soft and comfortable. Since this is a short boxer, there isn’t much length on the legs. Because of this, and the leg bands, I didn’t have any problems with a riding-up feeling. And with these being a short boxer, there is full rear end coverage which adds to the all-day comfort.
For style, it’s a sexy, masculine look. The stretchy ribbed cotton and patriotic colors creates an attractive look especially with the body forming nature of the added spandex to the material – allowing the material to form and profile your manhood a bit.
If you haven’t noticed from my other reviews on the Freedom Brief and Bikini, I absolutely love this new collection. They truly are a wonderful pair of men’s underwear and provide excellent daily comfort. I’d again recommend these and the Freedom (or Twilight) line to you and have placed the Boxers on my favorites list.
Reasonably priced at $21 (USD) you can’t go wrong, they’re a great buy! What a great pair for Holiday Weekend!!

N2N Bodywear 2010 Twilight Trunk – A Men’s Underwear Review
A few weeks ago, I wrote on N2N’s 2010 new men’s underwear line that recently came out and have published several reviews since. One of these reviews was on N2N’s Twilight Bikini – which I loved.
Today’s review is on N2N’s Twilight Trunk (UN20). The Twilight Trunk is made from a wonderfully soft cotton/spandex blend as their bikini. The cotton/spandex blend provides a soft ribbed cottony feel with just the right amount of stretch to support and form to your body. While the trunk doesn’t have a defined pouch like the Twilight Bikini, the very nature of the fabric forms it’s own pouch area for comfort and support. I liked the feel of this free-forming pouch as it allowed for some movement without confinement.
The Twilight Trunk (and Twilight line for that matter) uses a 1.5″ braided waistband. The waistband is just high enough to be comfortable without cutting into and small enough that you don’t need to be sagger to wear them. The braided waistband was soft and comfortable. Since this is a short trunk, there isn’t much length on the legs. Because of this, and the leg bands, I didn’t have any problems with a riding-up feeling. Again because of these being a mini-trunk, there is full rear end coverage which adds to the all-day comfort.
For style, it’s really a matter of taste. While the pouch on the trunk isn’t as prominent of a look as the bikini, it’s a sexy, masculine look. The stretchy ribbed cotton creates an attractive look by allowing your package to be defined by it’s natural position.
My only recommendation to N2N, though not a big one, would be to get rid of the sewn tag. Most brands use the sewn tag instead of a tagless design. Almost without exception, I cut these off as soon as I know the washing instructions. So, like I said, not a big deal, but would be nice.
Just as awesome as N2N’s Twilight Bikini, their Twilight Trunk is a wonderful pair of men’s underwear for daily comfort. I’d again recommend these and the Twilight line to you and have placed them on my favorites list.
Reasonably priced at $19 (USD) you can’t go wrong, they’re a great buy!

Pipe Underwear – for all your, er … plumbing needs
PIPE Underwear, by Palachio has some great designs in both their briefs and boxer briefs. Recently, I tried two pairs of their briefs – Graffiti and Red Rose. Both have the same cut – a sexy, flashy lowrise – and are made from 93% cotton/ 7% Elastic. The cotton/elastic blend provides for a soft, comfortable material that has some give to it – keeping you supported without being restricted. PIPE is the outcome of loud screams for a new trendy brand of underwear.
A couple of years ago Palachio, the creator of PIPE, noticed the need for a new trendy underwear line. He noticed the lack of color, textures and comfort for men’s underwear. A decision was taken to create a funky brand based on current and upcoming trends.
PIPE creates innovative garments that make you feel unique and sexy. The idea is to push the boundaries of traditional underwear. We want you to look amazing and feel comfortable no matter the time of the day.
Why do we have to hide our underwear? PIPE’s underwear is so unique and fun that you would want to show them off and make them a part of your whole outfit.
Don’t call it underwear… call it “PIPE”.
