Clever Xuly Classic Brief – A Men’s Underwear Review

I have to say, Clever Underwear creates many sexy designs that really catch my eye.   Previously we reviewed the Zimbabue Bikini, Maori Mesh Boxer and Lightening Brief.  While I really loved the look and feel of many of Clever’s designs, I have mixed feelings on the Clever Xuly Classic Brief.  The Xuly Classic Brief is from Clever’s MicroFiber line of men’s underwear.

The overall style of the Xuly Classic Brief was quite nice.  The pair I tried came in the Grape color.  I really liked the look of the geometric pattern and the soft, wide waistband.  The width of the side panels are wider than I typically like, though it is a brief, but would say the the contoured pouch and pattern make up for it.
In front, I found the pouch to be very comfortable and supportive.  Being a contoured pouch, I found myself very comfortable as a pair of underwear suitable for dailywear.  In addition to simply being comfortable, the contoured pouch does provide for a complimentary profile – if you know what I mean. 😉

In the rear is where my opinion of the brief starts to dwindle.  I really liked that the Xuly Classic Brief has a full seat.  I didn’t have any problems with riding up throughout the day.  My troubles began with the seams.  As you can see in the picture, the bottom seam crosses on the bottom of your butt, which felt odd.  If you’re generally not bothered by the feeling of seams, than disregard this comment.  Other than the butt seam, I loved these briefs.
The fabric is from Clever’s MicroFiber collection and is made from a blend of 93% polyester and 7% spandex. The result of this blend is a soft, stretchy material the stretches to fit your body (and package).  It’s really the combo of the material and contoured pouch that made this so comfortable.
Overall, I found these to be a stylish, well-made pair of men’s underwear.  The brief cut made these comfortable and the color and pattern made it stylish.  My only drawback would be the butt seam.
Several of the online retailers carry this and some have these on sale.  If you’re generally not bothered by the feeling of seams, you really can’t go wrong with the Clever Xuly Classic Brief.
