Freedom Reigns Sport Trunk: a Men’s Underwear Review

One of the more recent brands to hit the highly competitive men’s underwear, athletic wear, and beachwear market is Freedom Reigns.  They are also a brand you should take note of!  Since this is the first of our Freedom Reigns reviews, I’d like to provide a bit of background on this new brand.

In just two short years, an eternity for a new brand, Freedom Reigns has become a fairly well known brand and built a reputation for quality, comfort and style.  Freedom Reigns makes all of their garments in the US at their factory in downtown LA.  After reviewing this first pair of Freedom Reigns, I know they’ll be around for quite some time.

Anyways, on with the review ….

Fit: The Freedom Reigns Sport Trunk is just that.  The sport trunk has the traditional coverage you’ll find in a trunk with a bit more of a fitted style – which makes it the sport styling.  Overall, I found the Sport Trunk quite comfortable.  The trunk covers just under the seat and provides and athletic pouch (a defined pouch that fits well for athletics). I wore these both for daily wear, as well as for basketball, and found them comfortable for both uses.  All around a good fitting trunk.

Style:  As I’ve found with most of the Freedom Reigns collections, they exude a sexy masculine look.  The Sport Trunk features contrasting stitching, a contoured pouch, triple needle stitching, and side sport stripes.  Across the front of the soft waistband is the raised Freedom Reigns labeling.  The Sport Trunk comes in Green, White, Black, and Sky Blue.

Fabric: Made from a quality weight of 95% cotton & 5% spandex, the Sport Trunk’s material adds to its overall quality and comfort.

Quality:  It is evident that Freedom Reigns uses quality materials and take pride in their overall craftsmanship.  As I’ve found with many brands, though, I had to cut the label off on the inside.  My only recommendation would be to switch how they label their underwear.  I have to say, though, this is very common with many brands.  I’ve become so accustomed to cutting off labels I forget sometimes how often this happens.  I can say that I am rather particular about the feeling of labels against my skin – so take that into consideration when your read these remarks.

Overall: The only suggestion I can make, other than the label, is adjusting their sizing chart.  I am a 34 inch waist and wear an XL in Freedom Reigns (typically I’m a medium).  This does mess with your head a bit having to order an XL, but once you get over that, you’ll be very happy with your purchase.

Where to buy: the Freedom Reigns Sport Brief can be purchased directly from their online store at
